TENDONITIS

Tendinitis is inflammation of the thick fibrous cords that attach muscle to bone. These cords are called tendons. The condition causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint along the affected tendon. Tendinitis can occur in any tendon and cause pain in various areas of the lower leg, ankle and foot.  Most common tendon conditions are Tibial Posterior, Tibial anterior and Peroneal Longus. It commonly occurs in runners, and in middle-aged people who play sport or exercise regularly.

At Right Path Podiatry we assess your feet to make sure that the correct diagnosis is made. We then focus on the best prevention and treatment plan which can include rehabilitation program, changes in lifestyle, change of footwear and possibly orthotics raises if there is an underlying biomechanical cause.

Specialised treatments may be recommended for more complicated chronic injuries. For example, we offer laser, Prolo therapy and shockwave therapies at our clinic.
