CUBOID SYNDROME

Cuboid syndrome is a medical condition caused when the cuboid bone moves out of alignment. This can occur as a one-off incident, like a slight sprain of the ankle, or gradual tightening of the Peroneus Longus caused by overuse. Cuboid syndrome causes discomfort and pain on the outside (lateral side) of the foot. Patients sometimes report difficulty in identifying the exact location of the pain. This can make diagnosing cuboid syndrome a challenge.

At Right Path Podiatry we assess the pain at the outside of your foot and diagnose it. We then focus on the best prevention and treatment plan which can include changes in lifestyle, change of footwear and possibly orthotics if there is an underlying biomechanical cause.
